I am currently working on completing the W-BEN-E form. With the new FATCA regulations, there are various sections that require specific information which can be confusing. Specifically, in PART XX, section XX, we need to indicate our FATCA status. As a foreign private foundation with beneficiaries and members who are non-US nationals or residents, and with all our income sourced from interests and dividends from stocks and bonds, I am unsure which category we fall under.

I recently separated from my company and was offered a severance package that is being paid out to me over a year. I have noticed that the taxes being withheld are three times more than what was taken out when I was still employed. In my past experience, severance pay was treated as regular wages with similar deductions. The significant increase in tax withholding is challenging for me as it is my only source of income currently, and this situation makes it hard to cover my living expenses until I find new employment.

I sent my taxes from a DPO address before October 7th. Along with my state taxes prepared by a professional, I received all state refunds but not the Federal one. Despite using the "where's my refund" tool on the IRS site, my tax paperwork wasn't found. I resent my taxes on February 8th and used a tracking number from (uses.com) confirming delivery in Austin, TX on February 12th. Over 2 weeks later, there is still no record on the irs.gov site. I'm seeking assistance to address and receive my overdue refund.

I have claimed my younger sibling as a dependent for three consecutive years. Despite my innocence, the IRS audited me, leading to a prolonged two-year dispute that has left me in debt due to my brother's filings. Surprisingly, the IRS has imposed a three-year ban on claiming the Earned Income Credit (EIC). Throughout this ordeal, I have faced challenges and even defaulted on payment arrangements. I have postponed filing my recent taxes in the hope of resolving this issue to alleviate financial strains, as my family is planning a move with limited funds. Any assistance or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello! I'm trying to confirm if my tax information is accurate. I faxed my details to the IRS through H&R Block a while ago, but I haven't received any confirmation or updates yet. I'm unsure if they accepted my information or if they need more details, particularly regarding my move from Florida to Chicago in June [redacted]. The lady at H&R Block sent my health insurance information, specifically the [redacted] B form from my time with Illinois Medicaid last year, instead of the [redacted] A form the IRS mentioned. Any help regarding this would be appreciated.

I am urgently trying to contact an agent to locate my [redacted] amended return, which was filed in August [redacted]. In October, I was informed that my $[redacted] refund was being processed, but as of April [redacted], I have not yet received the check. I suspect it may have gone missing in the mail and I am in need of assistance in getting a new check issued. It has been several months since I last heard from the IRS, and I would appreciate any updates on the status of my refund.

In late [redacted], I encountered a problem regarding an unissued W2 form from my secondary job. My parents, who are acting with power of attorney, have not received the necessary tax documentation. This job, which involves delivering payroll for various companies through ADP, does not withhold taxes and should account for vehicle expenses. I am currently unable to locate the disputed #, which is urgent as today is the deadline. I require the dispute # and information regarding how this situation will be addressed.

I am currently in need of the full name, phone number, and address of the child care provider for my [redacted] taxes. The individual who assisted me with my taxes has unfortunately passed away, causing some discrepancies in the information provided. To complete my taxes today, I urgently require this information which H&R Block is requesting. Please provide the necessary details via email at [redacted], over the phone at [redacted], or via fax at [redacted].

I have heard that the IRS phones are not being answered due to cutbacks. New mortgage rules state that I need to send my taxes and wait 7 to 10 days for the IRS to send the return to my lender. I attempted to call but was on hold forever and got disconnected. I have found a possible number to try: 1-[redacted]. Additionally, there is a form to be completed (see below) that needs to be sent to 1-[redacted]. I only require the completed [redacted] return, not the wage and earnings transcript. The necessary form is a [redacted]-T, which can be found and printed for free by searching on Google. This information is urgent and must be done today. Thank you!

One of our company employees has been assigned to the USA as a permanent resident (Green Card Holder) to provide consultancy services. We have some questions regarding her tax situation. She works as a full-time employee in Pakistan, earning $[redacted] per month deposited into her account there. In the USA, she receives $[redacted] per month which is transferred from her Pakistani account to her US account. We need guidance on which form and schedule should be attached to her Form [redacted] for [redacted]. Assistance with calculating her tax liabilities for the year [redacted] would be greatly appreciated.

In October [redacted], I lost my job and had to get medical insurance through a broker. They advised me that I qualified for a tax credit, so I've been paying a reduced amount since November [redacted] to April [redacted]. Recently, my broker informed me that the IRS has revoked my eligibility for the credit. Could my tax preparer have overlooked a form that needed to be filed? If so, what steps should I take to rectify this issue?

The IRS has retained our [redacted] tax refund, claiming we owe them. After contacting them, we requested a reopening of our case to receive statements explaining the debt. In February, we spoke to a representative who assured us they would send a letter detailing the amount owed and reasons, though it might take time. Despite waiting as instructed until June 20, we have not received any correspondence. Upon following up on April 25 and being told the same, we are still awaiting the promised mailed information.

I recently received an IRS notice CP80 regarding a tax credit from [redacted]. The letter has my name but a wrong SSN listed. My husband and I, Jorge and Svetlana Gonzales, have consistently paid our taxes on time each year, including for [redacted]. I am Svetlana Gonzales with SSN XXX-XX-[redacted]. The letter was addressed to Svetlana Gonzales with SSN XXX-XX-[redacted], with a credit on the account of $[redacted]. Could you kindly correct this error and send it to the correct person with SSN XXX-XX-[redacted]? Should I provide a copy of my [redacted] tax return as proof? Let me know if you need a copy of the letter you originally sent me.

In August [redacted], my wife arrived from China after we married at the end of [redacted]. Unfortunately, my company's insurance did not deem her arrival as a qualifying life event for immediate coverage enrollment. As a solution, my wife purchased Patriot America traveler's insurance. However, when I began preparing my tax return last week, I discovered a $1,[redacted] penalty because the traveler's insurance was not considered as complying with Obamacare regulations. It seems unfair to face a penalty for not having Obamacare insurance when my wife was not eligible to be covered under my company's plan due to the qualifying life event rule. The situation feels quite frustrating and contradictory.

Hello, I am a college junior experiencing anxiety over potential taxable income under the Internal Revenue Code. Over the past three years, I've fretted about winnings from activities like poker games or amusement park prizes, as well as copyrighted content like songs in videos. I'm anxious because I lack records for these transactions when filing my taxes. While I understand the need to report all income, including fringe cases like these, it has aggravated my existing OCD. Although I can cover any taxes owed, particularly at the state and local level due to the federal standard deduction, I struggle to reconcile the idea of these items being taxable. I wonder if there is a way to address these concerns to find a reasonable solution that eases my anxiety. Thank you for any guidance you can provide.

I submitted my taxes on January 26, [redacted], and the IRS accepted them on January 28. Initially, the refund date was set for February 23, [redacted], but it got delayed. After contacting the IRS, they mentioned the funds were sent to the bank and then sent back to them. However, my bank has no record of this transaction. Another representative stated that the refund is under review without specifying a reason, advising me to call again in 60 days. By the second week of May, anticipating the refund, I called again and was informed that an identity verification was required at the local IRS office. Upon doing so, I was told that the review process would take an additional 60 days. As a family of five currently facing homelessness, moving from place to place every week without transportation to seek employment, we urgently need our refund to secure a vehicle and stable housing for our children.

I will be turning 70 1/2 next March, and I am looking to convert my $220K IRA into a Roth IRA. I haven't paid taxes in over 10 years, and my Combined Income is close to $24K. I believe I might need to do this conversion over a few years. I am interested to know how much it would cost in taxes if I move under $34K or if I move $50K. Should I proceed with the conversion this year? I am hesitant to pay any fees without knowing if you can assist me with these specific questions, as they differ from what others have been asking.

I recently discovered that I was billed for underpayment on my [redacted] FIT without being informed of the owed amount. Despite electronically filing my tax return, I only received notifications from the IRS regarding the non-receipt of my filings over the years. I need access to the notices sent by the IRS detailing my outstanding balance resulting from late payments. This information is crucial for me to appeal the accrued penalties and interest, which escalated unknowingly due to the lack of transparency on the matter.

My ex-wife used an H&R Block website to file taxes claiming me as a dependent without reporting all my income sources. This resulted in an audit where I had to prove my dependent's details and reasons for claiming head of household. Despite missing [redacted] wages, only my w-2 was submitted, leading to a $67 return. I haven't received the check, unsure if it was cashed. I still need to submit my [redacted] labor and another w-2 for the [redacted] taxes. I reached out to Jackson Hewitt Tax Services employee who misplaced my tax papers. I hope to resolve these missing documents.

I am facing difficulties receiving my tax return. I feel like I am being given the runaround regarding a paper needed from the IRS to verify my identity. Despite multiple assurances of it being resent, I have not received it even though it's already the end of April. My bills are overdue, risking eviction from my house because I haven't received this crucial document to claim my return. I have contacted the IRS, but the assistance has been unhelpful. Can the IRS email me the necessary paper since it hasn't reached me after two attempts of being sent? Despite receiving all other mail, this particular letter seems to be missing. Initially informed that my return was progressing, now I'm stalled awaiting verification of my identity. Urgently seeking a resolution via email. Thank you.
